Mortal Kombat PAX 2010 gameplay; Tag, you’re dead

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Back from a few troublesome years and questionable design directions, Mortal Kombat‘s reemergence set hearts fluttering (and not because Kano forcefully removed them). At this weekend’s PAX event, senior producer Hans Lo gave a demonstration of the debut tag mechanics in one of the spruced up version of MKII‘s Deap Pool level. Tag-teaming works pretty much the same as most fighters said mechanic; your chosen partner can aid in your fight or be tagged in to take the opponent on for themselves. The pace appears a little slower than other fighters of this ilk but that just makes it look even more like a classic Mortal Kombat game – which is a very good thing.

Mortal Kombat is coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 next year. Though I wish it were sooner.
