Supposedly, every cloud has a silver lining and Epic Games has announced that despite delaying Gears of War 3 for at least five months, there will be a multiplayer beta coming early 2011, reports Shacknews. Last week, the studio dropped the bomb with news that GoW3 wouldn’t meet its original April 2011 release date but would be sometime in Autumn. Naturally, people were upset. But because of the delay, Epic have been able to allow access into a multiplayer beta which is something they’ve not been able to do with previous Gears games due to a strict development schedule.
Little has been revealed about what the beta will contain though the studio did state that Gears 3 will use dedicated servers and do away with giving the host an advantage. And while it may not be the full game, the chance to play the multiplayer component early next year is more Gears 3 than what we would have had.
