Like a shabby tower block that’s used up all its usefulness, EA have taken the proverbial wrecking ball to SimCity on the App Store. In its place, they’ve built the shiny new SimCity Deluxe and are claiming it betters the first game in almost every way. Easier controls, nicer visuals and a smoother performance are some of the promises being made with this new version being based on SimCIty 4 whereas the previous one followed the ideas of SimCity 3000. From the early reviews on iTunes, users are all saying it’s a good game but not too sharp if you’re playing on an iPhone 4 because it lacks support for the Retina display. Something that will probably be fixed with an update but a tad annoying for those lucky ones with their 326dpi screens.
SimCIty Deluxe is available now on the App Store for £3.99/$6.99
