After the green light (or should that be amber?) was given for Telltale to produce a series of Jurassic Park episodes, it’s now been announced that the studio will be developing a string of games based on the Back to the Future license too. It’s all down to the deal struck with NBC Universal and their properties so other cult movies or even TV shows could find themselves made into episodic adventures. Telltale’s strengths lie in storytelling through point and click mechanics which would be a natural fit for both Jurassic Park and Back to the Future. The focus of the games is still under wraps but ceo Dan Connors has said; “The games are going to exist within these worlds. I wouldn’t call these games sequels per se but a new interpretation of their worlds for a new medium. For one generation, it’s an introduction to these series. For another generation, it’s a thing they can look back on and something they can share warmly with their family and friends.” Aw, how sweet. The first Back to the Future episode will be released this winter for Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii and Mac for a yet to be confirmed price.
