Capcom’s next instalment of frantic 2D fighter franchise, Marvel vs Capcom 3, isn’t meant to be released until Spring 2011. Yet a dash of mystery came to the official blog by assistant producer Akihito Kadowaki who said “development is approaching a climax”. Hmm, what the Ryu is he talking about? Kadowaki did follow that remark by saying that there is such a large amount of content in that game and they’ll need to promote it while still developing so there’s no time to get complacent. Marvel vs Capcom 3 will be the first versus game that is being developed for HD consoles and the first one to use the MT Framework meaning it’s going to look mighty fine. There as also a hint that we’ll be seeing more of MvC3 at E3. But I’m still puzzled as to what Kadowaki means by “approaching a climax”. Could the core of development be almost finished allowing almost a year of tweaking and balancing? Or maybe they’re close to finalising the complete roster of fighters. Who knows? Well, Capcom knows but they’re choosing to tease rather than tell.
