News of how Ubisoft has decided not to release a demo of upcoming Assassin’s Creed II is causing a bit of a stir online. A representative from the French publisher told Connected Consoles at the recent Eurogamer Expo not to expect a demo – much like the first Assassin’s Creed. Ironically, Connected Consoles was in fact playing a level – some may call it a demo – of the game when the news was broken. Seeing as Ubisoft are confident that AS2 will sell exceptionally well, I’m not surprised and wasn’t even expecting a demo. It’s rare that triple A titles receive demo’s nowadays since marketing, journalistic hype and plain old word of mouth seem to do just fine. Still, it would have been nice to see whether all the hype can be trusted before we part with £40.
