Stars in his eyes

Star Fox - aww, he's happy

Legendary game creator/designer Shigeru Miyamoto, opened up to MTV and revealed how much he likes the Star Fox franchise: “I’m a big fan of the Star Fox games. Every time we make a Star Fox game I’m hoping people will enjoy it as much as I do. Of course the goal every time is to try and make it more and more fun but, at least in Japan, the people that purchase the Star Fox games has decreased over the years.” From what I can remember, the last Star Fox game came to the DS back in 2007 and two years before, we had Star Fox: Assault on the GameCube. Hero Fox McCloud has been seen in the Smash Bros games but there’s not been a great deal of action for the rest of the team. As the franchise progresses however, it seems to get further and further away from what made the SNES classic so much fun. The DS game and SF: Assault have been similar but not given much attention from Nintendo’s marketing department. Could Miyamoto’s comments indicate Star Fox maybe heading to the Wii or at least a newer DS version? Possibly. But before I get all excited at the prospect it could also just be Miyamoto making a general comment. I really hope it’s the former…
