When I prayed to the God of video games (we all know who that is…) for a new game to feature Ryo Hazuki, this wasn’t quite what I was hoping for. The star of Shenmue 1&2 (two of favourite games) joins other so-called ‘all stars’ in Sega’s new racing game imaginatively called Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing. CVG posted the video above along with a quote from Sega saying “[Ryo] shall appear from a far eastern land across the sea [Japan per chance?], a young man who has yet to know his potential… And he’ll be driving a badass motorcycle,” But the best is yet to come: “And when a motorcycle just can’t cut it, Ryo unleashes his All-Star move and is able to swap vehicles to his iconic forklift truck to charge and barge opponents out of the way!” This has to be the first time that a forklift truck is viewed as a better mode of transport over a “badass motorcycle”. Hopefully Sega will take the hint from how Ryo is said to be the most requested character from fans and finally release that third title in the Shenmue franchise! Maybe not…best get praying again eh? Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing game will be out early next year on all formats
