It’s never final

Final Fantasy Wonderswan title screen thanks to Moby Games

Hironobu Sakaguchi‘s original RPG masterpiece Final Fantasy has been released on NES, mobile phones, Game Boy Advance, MSX, Nintendo DS, GameCube, PC, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, Wonderswan Color and now the Wii. 22 years after it’s initial release and a year after the last remake, someone at Nintendo thought “hey, you know what the virtual console needs? The original Final Fantasy game”. Heads were nodded, phone calls were made and for 500 Wii points, you can play the very fist final adventure on your Wii, joining the 5 other Final Fantasy games already on the system with at least one more on the way. It begs the question, will Square ever stop milking the franchise? If the games are good, does it matter?
