The Wii MotionPlus should be something that all developers utilise in their games due to it’s 1:1 motion tracking and credibility to ‘waggle’. However it seems to have just become another peripheral that only a few titles take advantage of. Thankfully the upcoming Red Steel 2 from Ubisoft doesn’t just throw in Wii MotionPlus support, but actually rids the Wii from that wrist-busting waggle. The developer’s diary above talks through some of the movements for swordplay including slashing and stabbing but reminds us that no, this isn’t a sword fighting sim but a game – and what a great looking game it’s turning out to be.
